President of Estonia Discusses Peace in Ukraine during his Visit to the Vatican with Cardinal Parolin

Estonian President, Alar Karis was received at the Vatican on April 3 at the Secretariat of State by Cardinal and Archbishop Gallagher. In the talks he expressed appreciation for the good bilateral relations and satisfaction for the imminent beatification of the Jesuit martyr Eduard Profittlich, the first blessed of the Eastern European country
"Prospects for the end of the war in Ukraine" were the focus of the conversation this morning, April 3, between the Cardinal Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin, and the President of the Republic of Estonia, Alar Karis. The head of state was received in the Secretariat of State by the cardinal, accompanied by Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

This morning, 3 April, the President of the Republic of Estonia, His Excellency Mr. Alar Karis, was received at the Secretariat of State by His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.
During the cordial talks, appreciation was expressed for the good bilateral relations, highlighting the positive contribution of the local Catholic community to Estonian society. Satisfaction was also expressed regarding the imminent beatification of Archbishop Eduard Profittlich, a Jesuit martyr and Estonia’s first Blessed.
Finally, bilateral, regional and international issues were also discussed, with particular reference to the prospects for an end to the war in Ukraine.
