The funeral Mass of Pope Francis will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the first day of the Novendiali, or nine days of mourning and Masses for the repose of Pope Francis' soul, in front of St. Peter's Basilica, as provided for in the Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis . 
According to the Holy See Press Office - at 9 am tomorrow morning, the Basilica will remain open to the faithful who wish to visit the body of the Pontiff at the following times: Wednesday 23 April from 11 am to midnight; Thursday 24 April from 7 am to midnight; Friday 25 April from 7 am to 7 pm.

This was announced by the Office for Liturgical Celebrations, reporting that the funeral liturgy will be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Dean of the College of Cardinals. At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, the Ultima commendatio and the Valedictio will take place. The coffin will then be taken to St. Peter's Basilica and from there to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore for burial.

The Translation in St. Peter's Basilica
Tomorrow, Wednesday 23 April, the translation of the body of the Pontiff to St. Peter's will take place. At 9:00 am the coffin with the deceased will be taken from the Chapel of the Domus Sanctæ Marthæ to the Vatican Basilica, always according to the provisions of the Ordo Exsequiarum Romani Pontificis . After the moment of prayer, presided over by Cardinal Kevin Joseph Farrell, Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church, the translation will begin.
The procession will pass through Piazza Santa Marta and Piazza dei Protomartiri Romani; from the Arch of the Bells it will exit into Piazza San Pietro and enter the Vatican Basilica through the central door.
