Catholic Bishops of France Announce Election of their New President Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline and Vice-Presidents



Catholic Bishops of France announced that Bishop Vincent Jordy and Bishop Benoît Bertrand are the new Vice-Presidents of the Conference of Bishops of France
The bishops gathered in the Spring Plenary Assembly in Lourdes, elected Mgr Vincent Jordy, Archbishop of Tours, Vice-President of the CEF within the previous Presidency (2022-2025) , and Mgr Benoît Bertrand, Bishop of Pontoise, current President of the Doctrinal Commission of the CEF , new Vice-Presidents of the Conference of Bishops of France .
Alongside Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline, Archbishop of Marseille, elected new President of the CEF on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, they will form, as of July 1 , the new Presidency of the Conference of Bishops of France (CEF).Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline is elected new President of the Conference of Bishops of France
The bishops of France, gathered at their spring plenary assembly in Lourdes, elected Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline, Archbishop of Marseille, as the new President of the Conference of Bishops of France (CEF).Elected for a three-year term, renewable once, he will take up his duties on July 1, succeeding Mgr Éric de Moulins-Beaufort, Archbishop of Reims.
