WATCH Faithful Gather in the Vatican Basilica to Pray for Pope Francis Led by Cardinal Gugerotti for the 6th Day - VIDEO

The Vatican's head cardinals have for the sixth consecutive day, recited the Holy Rosary for Pope Francis, inside St. Peter's Basilica. Leading the moment of recollection is the prefect of the Dicastery for the Oriental Churches is Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti.
“Dear brothers and sisters, I am sorry that you are in the rain! But I am with you, on this side… You are brave! Thank you!”. On March 1, the rain that Rome has experienced caused the rosary to be held inside the Vatican Basilica.

The harmonies of the Schola Cantorum brought beauty to the prayers, the cardinal raised his invitation: “With our gaze fixed on Jesus, this evening too we entrust ourselves to She who is the 'Mother of the Church' and our Mother, in prayer for the health of the Holy Father Francis.” Gathered are cardinals, priests, nuns, young faithful and not only, present in the Basilica.  Their gazes rest on the icon of the Virgin Mary, adorned with white flowers, “which shines on our path as a sign of consolation and sure hope”.
The dozens of Hail Marys introduced by the Our Father and the passages from the Gospel of Luke, retrace the joyful moments set in the history of salvation like beads of the Rosary. For each mystery, the Pope has offered a meditation over the years during his pontificate. The announcement of the angel Gabriel becomes " the celebration of the yes ", ardent like that of Mary. His " haste " in reaching Elizabeth recalls that of someone who, filled with "grace", cannot keep his joy silent. The birth of Jesus illuminates the night of humanity, a promise of " hope " that "does not disappoint". Then, the presentation in the temple, which is light: " How much we need, even today, light, this light!" The same light that shines in the last mystery, when the young Jesus is found among the doctors of the Temple. " Amazement ".
At the end of the litanies, in the words of the Oremus pro Pontefice , prayer becomes a gift for the Pope and for every suffering soul. A vital help, as the final prayer says, capable of supporting “our human weakness”.
