UPDATE Pope Francis Follows Lenten Spiritual Exercises from Hospital with a Stable but Complex Clinical Picture

Vatican News released the Holy See Press Office's update on Pope Francis' health. The Pope also followed the Spiritual Exercises in the Paul VI Hall via video link this afternoon, he devoted himself to prayer and received the Eucharist. He continued his therapies and high-flow oxygenation during the day

The Pope's clinical situation remains stable with doctors confirming slight improvements within a picture that remains complex. The Holy See Press Office is providing journalists with updates on Francis' health, who has been hospitalized at the Gemelli Polyclinic since February 14. A medical bulletin was not released this evening, as had already happened in previous days, in light of the stable picture.

The Pope - who today marks the 67th anniversary of his entry into the Society of Jesus - also followed the Spiritual Exercises this afternoon, as he had done this morning, via video link with the Paul VI Hall where the Roman Curia is gathered, which also this evening recited the Rosary for the Pontiff's recovery.

In the chapel of his private apartment at the Policlinico, Francis gathered in prayer. He did not receive visitors, dedicating himself to prayer and meditation as required by the time of the Spiritual Exercises. This morning he also received the Eucharist. He then continued the prescribed therapies and during the day he continued high-flow oxygenation with the use of nose pads.

Tomorrow, March 12, further information will arrive from the doctors who yesterday released the prognosis, considering however the clinical picture still complex. Also tomorrow there will not be the text of the catechesis of the general audience, since it was not scheduled due to the Spiritual Exercises.
