Pope Francis says Remaining in Christ makes us a Family - with the same dignity. And the food of this family - at Mass is the Eucharist - to Gaudium et Spes Foundation

Pope Francis used the occasion of an audience with members of the Gaudium Et Spes Foundation to reflect on the enduring relevance of the Vatican II document from which the group takes its name.
The work of the Foundation “honours” the Council’s sole “Pastoral Constitution” and “makes present the relevance of this document,” the Pope said. He was afterwards admitted to hospital.

Dear brothers and sisters
of the Gaudium et Spes Foundation,
I am happy to welcome you today in this Jubilee Year that we have just begun and which makes us all "pilgrims of hope". I would like to thank you for the work you do, especially for the poorest, following the teachings of the Conciliar Constitution from which you took your name and which you honour with your actions.
In this vein, the Foundation and its works make present the validity of this document, which coincides with the synodal spirit of the Church, where we are all united in Christ, forming a universal brotherhood, as members of his Body (cf. 1 Cor 12:12 and Rom 12:5). This union is achieved through the Holy Spirit, who is Love, and is manifested in solidarity, especially with those who suffer the most.
This remaining in Christ makes us a family, brothers, with the same dignity. And the food of this family that gathers to eat together on Sundays at Mass is the Eucharist. We form one body, because we eat the same bread (cf. 1 Cor 10:17). It is the spiritual food that is served to all equally, and makes us live in communion with God and our brothers.
This power of the Holy Spirit leads us to be instruments of God's love that wants to reach all men, without distinction.
Therefore, in this Holy Year I want to thank you for being a reason for hope for many people who suffer and are discouraged, who through your works feel that God caresses them and consoles them in the midst of their pain.
May Jesus bless you and the Holy Virgin take care of you. And do not forget to pray for me. I will also pray for you.
