#BreakingNews Catholic Priest in Poland is Found Dead in his Rectory Basement after Suspected Robbery - RIP Fr. Grzegorz

The body of the parish priest of Our Lady of Fatima in Kłobuck, Silesia, Poland, was found in the basement of the rectory. The priest was tied up. A 52-year-old man who tried to escape was arrested on the spot. The police suspect a robbery motive.

At approximately 6:00 PM on Thursday, the police were notified that something was happening at the rectory. Officers quickly arrived on the scene.

"At this point I can say that the police received a report of a disturbance. At the scene they discovered the body of a 59-year-old man" – Michał Tomanek from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice told the Interia portal.

The officers arrested the fleeing man.

According to the website klobucka.pl, the murdered man was Fr. Grzegorz Dymek, a 59-year-old parish priest of the local parish. The police suspect that he was attacked when he was closing the gate of the fence. The officers suspect that the perpetrator was motivated by the desire to steal, because Fr. Dymek recently reported that he had collected 80 thousand zlotys during Christmas carols.

According to the police, the suspect is a Pole, a resident of the Kłobuck district.

"Currently, intensive police activities are underway at the scene under the supervision of the prosecutor. The exact causes and circumstances of this incident and the role played by the 52-year-old man will be explained in the ongoing proceedings," informs Asp. Joanna Wiącek-Głowacz from the District Police Headquarters in Kłobuck.
