A Catholic priest was stabbed in Quilicura, Chile, South America, and his Computer and cell phone were stolen. The priest, age 67, who has 27 years of service in Chile, is now hospitalized at the Catholic University Hospital.

During the robbery, Rodriguez was stabbed three times by a man who tried to steal a computer and a cell phone from him. The attacker, a homeless man, was identified and detained by the police on November 26th. The priest was returning from adoration of the blessed sacrament in another parish then realized that somebody was inside his house, which is connected to his Church. His condition was released by the doctors as “serious, although without risks to his life. ” The attacker is a 30-year-old homeless man with a long criminal record, having been previously detained, who had come to the parish before for aid. On November 27th, the Archdiocese of Santiago released that RodrÃguez left the hospital on the previous day and was sent to a home for rest and recovery.
“The community of the parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel has been permanently accompanying its vicar with its presence, prayers, and solidarity. As the Archdiocese of Santiago, we have been collaborating with them, ” the archdiocese said in a statement. The parish has a public refectory where approximately 100 people can have a free meal free every Saturday.
