16 Catholic Youth in Gaza's Catholic Church are Consecrated to Jesus Through the Virgin Mary - a Sign of Hope!
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem released, that there was a consecration to Jesus through the Virgin Mary of sixteen young boys and girls from the Parish of the Holy Family, in Gaza's Catholic Church.
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem wrote that on Sunday, October 27, the feast of Our Lady Queen of Palestine and the Holy Land was celebrated in the Parish of the Holy Family of Gaza with a profound act of devotion.
A special Mass was presided over by Father Gabriel Romanelli, together with Fathers Yousef and Carlos Ferrero, Provincial Superior of the Institute of the Incarnate Word, sixteen young men and women from the parish consecrated themselves to Jesus through Mary.
The preparation for this significant Act of Consecration lasted three months, during which the young people were guided by the religious of the Incarnate Word.
They devoted themselves to daily meditation and delved into two essential texts: The Mystery of Mary and Honoring the Virgin Mary by Saint Louis Marie de Montfort, both translated into Arabic.
Entrusting yourself completely to Mary
This period of reflection helped them to deepen their understanding of entrusting themselves fully to Mary, which leads them to a closer relationship with her Son, while following her example in announcing the Kingdom of God.
In his homily, Father Gabriel highlighted the vital role of prayer in the midst of suffering. He acknowledged the pain experienced by the people of Gaza, but pointed to Mary, who stood steadfast beside her Son on Calvary, as a source of courage and inspiration. He reminded the faithful that this Act of Consecration serves as a powerful expression of love and faith in Christ, even in the face of adversity.
Parents expressed their joy at this important step taken by their children, noting the positive impact it has had on their lives amidst the daily challenges they face.
