Pope Francis has an Audience with Ecuador's New Ambassador to the Holy See, Jorge Edmundo Uribe Pérez
Pope Francis received in audience this Monday morning, August 26, the new ambassador of Ecuador to the Holy See, Jorge Edmundo Uribe Pérez. With the presentation of the letters of credence to the Pontiff, he begins his mission in the Vatican.
Jorge Edmundo Uribe Pérez presented his credentials to the Pope, beginning his mission in the Vatican. He was previously president and an active member of the Ecuadorian Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property, a non-profit civic entity dedicated to these three fundamental values of Christian social life.
Biography of Jorge Edmundo Uribe Pérez
The new ambassador was born on September 7, 1952, is married and has a daughter. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Colegio Espírito Santo in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, run by the Claretian priests. He also studied Law for two years at the Catholic University in the same city and studied Universal History, with an emphasis on the Philosophy of History, in addition to attending a Senior Management course at IDE Business School (2017).
Jorge Edmundo Uribe Pérez was president of the Ecuadorian Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property - TPF (1974), as well as an active member of the same non-profit civic entity dedicated to these three fundamental values of Christian social life (1975 - 1986). He also served as director of the Association of Banana Exporters of Ecuador - AEBE (2018 - 2023) and was founder and CEO of Tropicalfruit Export S.A. (2018 - 2023). Jorge Edmundo Uribe Pérez is also an active member of the Pontifical Institute Heralds of the Gospel.
