Back to School Prayers - Catholic Prayers to Pray for Students, for Students to Say, for Teachers and a Special Classroom Blessing:
Prayer Anyone Can Say for Students : God of wisdom and might,
we praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body and spirit. Be with our children as they begin a new school year. Bless them and their teachers and staff. Give the strength and grace as their bodies grow;
wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for understanding;
and peace and zeal to their hearts. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
A Student's Prayer at the Beginning of School Year : We give you praise, O God, for everything that is new and beautiful, for everything which holds promise and brings us joy. Bless us as we start this new year with our friends and teachers Help us to make the most of every chance we have to start afresh. May we show love to one another and to all. May the new beginning of this school year remind us that you give us chances to start over again and again. Help us to forgive others as we receive your forgiveness. Help us to learn and to work together. Help us to listen when we should and to know the best words when we speak and when it is better not to speak. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Back to School Prayer for Teachers:
As I step into a new academic year - Restore my spirit Renew my passion for sharing your wisdom And nurture my compassion for those You put in my charge. Transform me as I seek to transform Guide me as I seek to guide Open my mind and heart As I seek to open minds and hearts To the Good News of justice and peace. Help me listen more deeply To the world and to your Word So I can walk with my students Attentive to the Wisdom that Calls us all to the Kingdom of God. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Special Blessing for the CLASSROOM: (It is also recommended to sprinkle Holy Water in a classroom before classes)

God, bless this classroom and all who dwell within it. May the strength of its walls make the children safe, keeping peace within and trouble without; but through its open windows and doors, let nature come. All who stay and visit here shall be friends. Kindness and harmony shall be the essence of our class community. May this be a place where the laughter of children is heard, and all present will be treated with loving respect. Make this room warm in the winter, and let creativity and imagination flower. When the sun is ablaze, here shall coolness and shade hold away. Let this be a place of peace, offering refuge from chaos and doubt. May the orderliness manifested here be a model for the larger world. May beauty reign here, and may it renew us by its silence and perfection. May all students who enter this sheltered place, experience the freedom, calm and safety necessary to learn, play and explore. May all of our celebrations be feast of creativity, and companionship. Bless this room. May angels guard its corners, and may gifts fall among those present, as snow falling upon a field. Let those within this classroom share numerous passages of the sun and moon, and may the peace and happiness of childhood fill them to overflowing. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
