Wow Olympics Medal Winning Athlete Rayssa Leal Uses Sign Language to Praise God before her Performance!

Brazilian Catholic athlete Rayssa Leal, aged 16, won a bronze medal in women's street skateboarding at the Paris 2024 Olympics. During her celebration, she used sign language to express a religious message, reportedly in response to being told she could not verbally express her faith. The message she conveyed was 'Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.' This action has sparked discussions online about religious expression at international sporting events. (SEE Video below)
In an interview with reporters after her win, Leal spoke of her dreams “of becoming a skateboard athlete” from a very young age.
“And here I am, with a second Olympic medal from the Games,” she continued. “Once again, thank God I won a medal. I’m very happy to be here.”
Leal became famous at age 7 when a viral video of her skateboarding in a blue fairy princess costume was shared by skateboarder Tony Hawk. She was also the youngest person from Brazil to ever participate in the Olympics where she won the silver in street skateboarding at only 13 years old in 2021.
