Augustine’s mother, Monica, is dedicated and steadfast in her love for him. She prays for him throughout his life and she is pained by his sinful life. As an intellectual he tries to seek truth and test the teachings of his era. Then God’s Holy Spirit touches his heart — that is what changes his life. He is inspired to study God’s word and he is converted by the truth of Jesus Christ.
