RIP Chris Slattery - a Pro-Life Hero and Founder of Expectant Mother Care, Dies at age 68 after a Battle with Cancer

Chris Slattery, a pro-life hero, has died on November 22nd after a long struggle with cancer.  He established a network of pregnancy help centers in New York. He was 68 years old and died at Calvary Hospice in Bronx, New York, USA. He gave his operation, founded in 1984, EMC Frontline, formerly Expectant Mother Care, to Compass Care Pregnancy Services under the directorship of Reverend James Harden.

On the EMC F. page he wrote:
“We learned that providing free resources is critical—like ultrasounds, helpful education resources, and compassionate counsellors who share hope and help. That’s what makes the difference for vulnerable families and at-risk youth. We’re averaging two and a half saves a day now. We’ve saved tens of thousands of babies, and it all started with that one on a plaza in front of an office building on Park Avenue, 40 years ago.”— Chris Slattery, EMC Frontline founder
EMC’s website claims it has saved 43,000 lives since its founding in 1984.
Biography from his Linkedin Page:
Chris pursued a dream to empower pregnant women and girls in need with real alternatives and launched Expectant Mother Care, the primary project of The Evergreen Association, Inc, in 1984. EMC was NYC's first crisis pregnancy center and is now also known as EMC FrontLine Pregnancy Centers. Chris also trains, coaches and develops leaders, and offers motivational speaking through the John Maxwell Team, and the Empowerment Mentoring Community.
To help more mothers Chris set up a large network of pregnancy help centers in NYC, the busiest in the NorthEast US. And he expanded his network of pregnancy help work by building a telephone referral network in Texas in San Antonio, and Austin, as well as in Washington, DC, Arlington VA, Baltimore, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Detroit and Miami.
To empower young people to make a difference, he developed a unique, full-time, young leadership program in New York City training and deploying young interns in life-saving work. Over 350 individuals have gone through his program. It is described at www.ProLifeInterns.com This is a year-round program.
For cutting edge education of needy moms, Chris pioneered the use of onsite ultrasound and pre-natal care in a crisis center in the mid 80s, and introduced 3D and 4D ultrasound in lifesaving work when the technology became available.
Chris developed a program to be first responders to pregnant women in crisis- with free pregnancy testing, on-site ultrasounds, pro-life counseling, nearby subsidized pre-natal care, and on-site adoption consultations, referrals for housing, legal aid, and material assistance.
Chris personally trains and supervises an average of about 12 crisis counselors, nurses and ultrasound technicians, and in an average year also trains and deploys 30 part time and full time volunteer staff.
Chris launched the first Mobile Ultrasound Clinic, in a major US city, on the streets of the South Bronx, "Save the Storks" was inspired by Chris's work.
