#BreakingNews United Nations Alarm - "Gaza" is being "Strangled" - In 8 Days "not a drop of water, not a single grain of wheat, not a liter of fuel has been allowed into the Gaza"
Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East: "I have called this press conference to raise the alarm that, as of today, my colleagues from the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East in the Gaza Strip can no longer provide humanitarian assistance. As I speak to you, the Gaza Strip is running out of water and electricity. In fact, Gaza is being strangled, and it seems that the world has now lost its humanity. If we look at the water issue - we all know that water is life - Gaza is running out of water and Gaza is running out of life."

"Soon, I believe, at that, there will be no food or medicine. In the last eight days, not a drop of water, not a single grain of wheat, not a liter of fuel has been allowed into the Gaza Strip. The number of people seeking shelter in our schools in the south is overwhelming and we no longer have the capacity to deal with them."
STATEMENT ON UNRWA RESERVE SUPPLIES IN GAZA CITY
16 October 2023
EAST JERUSALEM,
UNRWA received reports this morning that yesterday a group of people with trucks, purporting to be from the Ministry of Health of the de facto authorities (DFA) in Gaza, removed fuel and medical equipment from the Agency’s compound in Gaza City.
UNRWA staff were compelled to evacuate its headquarters in Gaza City on a few hours’ notice during the night of 13 October. Since then, the Agency has had no access to its compound and no additional details about the removal of the assets.
Security cameras that normally cover the entrance and exit to the UNRWA compound had been damaged further to blasts from the conflict in previous days and ceased to operate.
UNRWA’s fuel and other types of material are kept for strictly humanitarian purposes, and any use of such assets for any other purposes is strongly condemned.
