#BreakingNews Government in Nicaragua Sends 8 Priests to Torture Prison after Arrest of 6 More Priests in about a Week
According to reports from Nicaraguan news agencies, 100% Noticias, El Confidencial, and La Prensa,
at least 8 priests detained by the dictatorship in Nicaragua were transferred a few days ago to the prison called El Chipote, a torture prison for political prisoners.
It was reported that the Independent Nicaraguan media La Prensa, El Confidencial, among others, confirmed the transfer through sources close to the Episcopal Conference of Nicaragua (CEN).
A priest who preferred to keep his name anonymous indicated to El Confidencial that 8 priests who were under "house arrest" at the Nuestra Señora de Fatima National Seminary, in Managua, were moved to El Chipote in the early hours of Sunday, October 15.
“They took them. Everyone is at El Chipote," he claimed.
In addition, lawyers representing priests previously reported to the same media that the clergy’s relatives lacked updated information about their location, except that some of them were no longer in the seminary.
In total, 13 priests have been arrested. According to reports 9 priests are now within the El Chipote prison. (including the priest Osman Amador Guillén, sent over a month ago to El Chipote.)
