The young woman, Jimena, is from Madrid, Spain and participated in WYD and she claims to have recovered her sight after receiving Communion in the Sanctuary of Fatima.

The online news COPE wrote, "this is how she told us about it in the COPE recording. At 16 years old, she had suffered a loss of vision due to a myopia problem for more than two years, until only 5% of her vision was left. "She couldn't use her mobile, all through audio", she explained to them excitedly.

After a long time without any possibility for recovery, she decided to pray a novena to the Virgen of the Snows, whose feast is celebrated on August 5th. “We have been praying for this for a long time and as it coincided with WYD, we asked all the young people to ask for my healing and today after receiving the Eucharist… I see perfectly. I do not know how to explain it to you". The Holy Mass was celebrated after the Rosary of Pope Francis in Fatima, who, after entering the Chapel of Apparitions, venerated the image of the Virgin Mary of Fatima and prayed before her for a few moments in silence.

The young woman, with her friends, participated in the Eucharist and after Communion... "I have opened my eyes and I see". “In the communion line I was very nervous, and when I sat on the bench I started to cry, I didn't want to open my eyes… I was moved and when I opened them, I saw, I saw everything super clear. I saw the altar, the tabernacle, I had a friend by my side who she saw perfectly ”. Precisely, that friend, who has accompanied him throughout this WYD helping him, guiding him, accompanying him... has been the first to witness "her gaze". "I have realized until she has changed a lot and we have started to cry."

At 16 years old, she is well aware that this is something very special “I have spent the entire Mass asking her for my cure, but when I received Communion before opening my eyes, the only thing I felt was peace. When we ask her if she has been able to talk to her parents, she is honest: “We haven't been able to talk because when we do, the only thing that comes out is to cry. Now I can look up her name on the phone, because now… I see the screen”.
