Pope Francis Meets Privately with Wife of WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange at the Vatican - VIDEO

Pope Francis met privately with the wife and two young children of WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. Assange who is presently imprisoned in London and fighting extradition to the U.S. He just celebrated his 52nd birthday on July 3rd. In the USA, he faces a 175 year prison sentence for publishing classified military documents.

The Vatican did not officially release any details of what was discussed in the private meeting. But the wife of Julian Assange claims the Pope's openness to meet with her was evidence of his support for the family. She said the Pope is 'concerned' by her husband's suffering.
