France's Backpack Hero Catholic Henri d'Anselme Saved the Lives of Children from a Knife Attack in Annecy!
On Thursday, June 8th, a man attacked young children with a knife in a public park in the town of Annecy, France.
A video shared online, allegedly filmed by a passer-by on a cell phone, shows the man in part of the park, among mothers screaming and young children in strollers. According to several reports and video (see bottom of post), a young Catholic man stopped the attacker by hitting him with a back pack. He was dubbed the "Back-pack hero" on social media. Henri d'Anselme, age 24, is seen as a hero among the French people. He is a Catholic who runs several popular social media channels, with nearly 100K followers on Instagram (see video below of Henri on his social media), as a Catholic pilgrim to various cathedrals. He runs the social accounts under the title "Le Chant des Cathédrales" or the Song of the Cathedrals.

The assailant was arrested later by local police.

President Emmanuel Macro condemned the attack on Twitter:
"Attack of absolute cowardice this morning in a park in Annecy. Children and an adult are between life and death. The Nation is in shock. Our thoughts are with them as well as their families and the emergency services mobilized."
Prosecutor Line Bone-Mathis said: “One of the victims was aged 22 months, two were two-years-old, one was three-years-old."
“All four children are in a critical condition with knife wounds”.
One of the adults had minor knife wounds, while the other – a 78-year-old man – had serious knife injuries and had also been wounded by a police firearm while they were arresting the attacker.
37 people were treated for shock.

The attacker is a 31-year-old man, Abdalmasih H., who told police say that he is a Syrian Christian asylum seeker. He had previously lived in Sweden where he had been granted refugee status.
“He called me around four months ago. He was living in a church,” his ex-wife said on condition of anonymity, saying he had left Sweden because he had been unable to get Swedish nationality.
