Pope Francis Leaves Hungary with a Farewell Ceremony and Receives a Unique Homemade Gift from the President Katalin Novák before Parting

Before his departure the President of Hungary Katalin Novak made a homemade gift for Pope Francis, traditional "salty cake." She shared several images of the trip on her Twitter account:

The Hungarian Ambassador to the Holy See, Eduard Habsburg, gave the pope a white rose to leave in front of the icon of Mary at the Basilica of St. Mary Major where Pope Francis prays before and after each trip.
At the end of the meeting with the academic and cultural world at the Péter Pázmány Catholic University, the Holy Father Francis moved to Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport for the farewell ceremony from Hungary.

Upon his arrival, the Pope was welcomed by the President of the Republic, H.E. Mrs. Katalin Novák, at the foot of the plane. Then, after the greetings of the respective Delegations and the local Entourage, Pope Francis boarded a neo/ITA Airways A320 and left to return to Italy.

The plane with the Holy Father on board returning from the Apostolic Journey to Hungary, which took off from Budapest's Ferenc Liszt International Airport at 18.08, landed at Leonardo da Vinci International Airport in Rome Fiumicino at 19.25.
Pope Francis sent a Telegram of thanksgiving upon his departure:
