France's Notre Dame Cathedral's Restoration Progresses and it is Set to Re-Open in 2024


In a statement, the general in charge of the restoration of the cathedral, Jean-Louis Georgelin, believes, with the Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul Malak, that the Notre Dame Cathedral, France, is on track to meet the promise of Emmanuel Macron made on the evening of the 2019 fire.
 
On 15 April 2019, just before 18:20, a fire broke out beneath the roof of Notre-Dame de Paris, a medieval Catholic cathedral in Paris, France. By the time the fire was extinguished, the cathedral's spire had collapsed, most of its roof had been destroyed, and its upper walls were severely damaged.
“The construction site is advancing rapidly”: Rima Abdul Malak confirms the objective of a reopening of Notre-Dame in 2024 Rima Abdul Malak went to Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris to follow the progress of the renovation work. The Minister of Culture has confirmed the project to reopen the building in December 2024.
