#BreakingNews Mass Shooting at a Christian Private School in Tennessee Leaves 7 Killed Including 3 Children - Bishop of Nashville Calls for Prayers

 On March 27, 2023, a mass shooting occurred at The Covenant School, a Christian private school in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Seven people were killed, including three young children and three adults from the staff. The perpetrator, who was identified as a 28-year-old white female and a former student of the school, was killed by police officers.

NEW UPDATE: The shooter was identified as Audrey Elizabeth Hale (aka Aidan), a 28-year-old resident of Nashville who police say identified as a transgender man (biological female). The victims were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all 9 years old. The adults were identified as Cynthia Peak, 61; Mike Hill, 61; and Katherine Koonce, 60, who was the head of the school.

The Covenant School is a Christian private school with approximately 200 students from pre-kindergarten to the sixth grade. It was founded in 2001 as a ministry of the Covenant Presbyterian Church.

The shooting happened during the morning hours at around 10:13 a.m. CDT. According to police, the shooter entered the school through a side door with two assault-style rifles and a handgun. When police arrived, they began to evacuate the students. The female shooter who was still shooting was fatally shot by the police. By 10:27 a.m., the shooter was dead.

The suspected shooter was identified as a female 28-year-old white woman from Nashville, who was a former student.

The Catholic Bishop of Nashville, Tennessee, Bishop Mark Spalding issued a statement (see image below), calling for prayers, on the diocese's Facebook Page and offers a Mass at 5:30pm at the cathedral for the victims.
