Dear brothers, thank you for your words, it is a great joy for me to welcome you here today, in this atmosphere of joy and celebration in which the clergy around their Pastor come to Peter's house to reaffirm their communion and relaunch their apostolic spirit. .
The experience of the apostles always has a double aspect, personal and communal. They go together and we cannot separate them. We are, yes, called individually, but always to be part of a larger group, walking together listening before speaking, knowing how to place ourselves as appropriate, also in the middle and behind, not just in front.
Jesus calls us from our poverty, from our fragility, we must respond to that call with a perennial purpose of conversion. Reject careerism, the double life, the search for worldly satisfactions, embracing the cross, the mediations of the Church: sacraments, prayer life, asceticism, etc. At the same time, being capable of mercy precisely because we are touched by the Lord's mercy, not giving lessons but witnessing an experience of intimacy with God.
Seek fraternity in all social environments, learn and teach to welcome everyone, to work with everyone, to seek consensus solutions that have ample space. Never become entrenched, neither in the Christian group to which we belong, nor in the responsibility entrusted to us, to live with a free spirit, in healthy indifference.
May the Lord bless you and the Holy Virgin take care of you, and don't forget to pray for me.
