No more violence!: Permanent Council of the Peruvian Episcopate condemns the murder of a policeman in Puno
The Permanent Council of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference condemned the attack against a Police patrol in Puno, which ended with the death of Sub-Officer José Luis Soncco Quispe (29 years old), who was burned alive inside the PNP vehicle.
Through an official statement, the Permanent Council remarked that "the only owner of life and death is God, our Lord."
Likewise, they expressed their heartfelt condolences to the relatives and the National Police of Peru, and asked that the other deaths be duly investigated.
In this regard, the Peruvian Episcopal Conference called on the contending groups to guarantee the transfer of the injured, allowing the entry and exit of ambulances to hospitals. "We cannot return to the dark times of terror that mourned our country for 20 years," he stressed.

1. The Permanent Council of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference

investigated.
3. We call on the contending groups to guarantee the transfer of
the injured, allowing the entry and exit of ambulances
to hospitals.
4. We cannot return to the dark times of terror that
mourned our country for 20 years. This situation deserves
energetic and forceful rejection of all, and reaffirm with utmost
urgency the imperative call NO TO VIOLENCE,
WHEREVER IT COMES FROM! NO MORE DEATHS! YES TO
LIFE! LIFE IS SACRED!
5. We ask our Lord and His Blessed Mother to enlighten us
for the construction of true peace in our beloved country.
