The BMW was moving at high speed, took Via Gregorio VII in the direction of Piazza Pio XI. The man  tried to get out and escape the police, but was immobilized with the use of a taser.
The Albanian man, was already known to the police for previous smaller charges. Thousands of pilgrims were arriving in St. Peter's Square to attend Pope Francis' Angelus. The car knocked down some security barriers and proceeding at high speed along a pavement.
