Christ is Risen!
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
Today is Wednesday, May 18, 2022, and for the 84th day Ukraine has been resisting the Russian invasion, which is destroying our land, waging war on our cities, villages and homes.
From what we can observe, we conclude that there is a strange slowdown in hostilities on the fronts. Ukraine successfully defends itself, stops enemy attacks. In fact, the enemy did not achieve any of the military goals he set for himself by invading our lands.
Although intense fighting continues, particularly in Luhansk and Donetsk regions, and the Dnipropetrovsk region was attacked by missiles this morning, Ukraine is standing and fighting. We feel more and more that Ukraine is able to withstand this difficult, uneven battle. We feel that the Lord God is blessing our army because we are praying for it. He supports those who know how to love the Motherland and their loved ones and is where people know how to help each other in hardship and adversity. But God's presence makes us invincible.
Today I would like to reflect on another act of mercy for the soul of a neighbor, which acquires a special sound in conditions of war - to bear the wrongs patiently. Such an act of mercy first of all reveals in love of neighbor the signs of God himself.

Because God is long-suffering. He endures this for a long time and waits until the sinner is converted and repents. If the Lord God had punished some human injustice and sin at once, one of us would probably not be alive now. God's long-suffering in love enables a person to realize his condition and thus change his behavior. The Lord God is waiting, giving man the opportunity to become better.
And it is obvious that in our relations, especially personal ones, with the closest and dearest, it is important not to rush to respond to evil with evil, but to be able to properly experience even such circumstances, which we call the crisis of human relations, to give time to others . And our love, especially for those around us, for our loved ones, should not change according to how another person treats me. I love, I share what is in me - I share the love that the Lord God has given me. And that love of mine, which is tested in long-suffering, becomes clear and active and is able to change another person.
Therefore, long-suffering, the ability to wait in love for the conversion of another, is similar to the time of recovery. Because every doctor, treating a patient, must wait for his recovery, which can not come immediately.
May the Lord God help us, especially in times of war, to extinguish the conflicts that arise in our families, parishes and communities out of love for our neighbors. This long-suffering in love, as a manifestation of God's long-suffering, becomes a great treasure for those who know how to love.
God bless Ukraine! God bless the Ukrainian army! God, bless our people's patience! God, grant us, showing long-suffering, to grow in Your love, to become stronger every day in the face of injustice. God, show your love to Ukrainian children. May the Lord God give a hundred people who support today those who are most difficult.
The blessing of the Lord be upon you, with His grace and love for mankind, always, now, and forever and ever. Amen.
Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
