Names of 21 Victims Killed at Texas School Shooting Released as Bishops Across the US Call for Prayer and an End to Gun Violence

On May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos killed 21 people at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, USA.  The names of the victims (see below) have been released and bishops across the USA are calling for prayer and an end to gun violence. Ramos shot and wounded his grandmother earlier in the day. Of the people fatally shot, 19 were children and 2 were teachers. The dead children were reported as being in grades two, three, and four (9-11 years old - Image Source: Facebook). The school teachers were identified as Eva Mireles, in her 40s, with a College age daughter, who taught 4th grade, and Irma Garcia, who also  taught 4th grade.
After his General Audience on May25th, Pope Francis said, "My heart is broken by the Texas elementary school killing. I pray for the children, for the adults killed and for their families. It is time to stop indiscriminate arms trafficking. Let us all work hard, so that such tragedies can no longer happen."
