#BreakingNews Catholic Priest Kidnapped with 60 Million Naira Ransom Demanded and his Cook Killed - Please Pray for Fr. Joseph

A Catholic priest in Nigeria was kidnapped by gunman and hs cook was shot dead. Rev Fr Joseph Shekari a Catholic Priest from Kaduna in Nigeria was kidnapped and Mr. Sati Musa, one of his cooks in Chawai, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was killed.  The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, has confirmed the abduction of its priests, Rev. Fr. Joseph Shekari of St Monica’s Catholic Church, Ikulu Parish.  

 The abductors have demanded the sum of 60 million Naira (about $144,000 USD)as ransom for his release. The gunmen are suspected to be terrorists. The kidnapping occurred on Sunday, February 7th, 2022 in the night. The cook was killed when the marauders stormed the place at 11:30pm on Sunday, NAN reports.

Kaduna State is one of the areas of Nigeria hit by the wave of violence that has spread much death and destruction in recent weeks. Criminal gangs have been active in central and north-western Nigeria for years, raiding villages, stealing cattle, looting and even killing people. Most recently, on Sunday, January 31, 11 people were killed in the raid on the village of Kurmin Masara in the local government area of Zangon Kataf.
