According to the Washington Examiner, President Trump on Wednesday will address the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast, an yearly event that brings together church leaders. Trump will speak during the event virtually.
Former President George W. Bush also addressed the NCPB three times.
"We are delighted and grateful that this year the president will provide remarks at our virtual event," NCPB event chairman Mark Randall said. "He and his administration have consistently promoted policies that protect our religious freedom and recognize the rights of the most vulnerable among us, the unborn."
The main speaker for this year's NCPB will be Bishop Robert Barron.
Bishop Robert Barron is the founder of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He is also the host of CATHOLICISM, a groundbreaking, award-winning documentary about the Catholic Faith, which aired on PBS. Bishop Barron is a #1 Amazon bestselling author and has published numerous books, essays, and articles on theology and the spiritual life. He is a religion correspondent for NBC and has also appeared on FOX News, CNN, and EWTN.
The National Catholic Prayer Breakfast (NCPB) was established in 2004 in response to Saint John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization. Each year, over 1,500 people gather in our nation’s capital to pray for our country. An impressive list of speakers highlights a program that attracts lay and religious leaders, national figures, Catholic apostolates, and guests from a variety of sectors and backgrounds. The event is non-partisan, and anyone is welcome to attend. Several side-events are offered each year to further enhance the spirit of the event.
