Peter Rand, National Vice-Chairman of Friends of the Holy Land wrote on 1 August: It is with great sadness that I inform you that our dear Chairman, Michael, died at home yesterday morning, peacefully with Norah by his side. He finally lost the battle against his throat cancer after a long period of treatment, which he bore in his usual stalwart way, without any complaint. He was always ready to accept ‘whatever was in Our Lord’s plan’ - a wonderful example to us all.
Please remember Michael in your prayers, along with Norah, his children, Tricia, Michael and Rachel plus his grandchildren and extended family. Next Monday was to be Michael and Norah’s Golden Wedding Anniversary.
Michael was one of the founding Trustees and the inspiration behind the FHL in the last four years. It was his commitment and leadership that encouraged so many to support the Christians in the Holy Land. We must now continue to build on his legacy.
God Bless you all at the sad time. Let us treasure the memories.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be circulated when known.
