RICK WARREN, author of the best-selling book "Purpose Driven Life" has suffered tragedy in his family. His youngest son, Matthew Warren, age 27, committed suicide on April 5, 2013. This was due to a life-long battle with mental illness. Rick and his wife Kay, married for 34 years, had 3 children Amy, Josh, and Matthew (deceased). They belong to the Southern Baptist Evangelical denomination. He also founded the "Saddleback" Church in Lake Forest, California where his is a Minister.
