ALL AFRICA REPORT: The bishops of Angola and São Tomé Episcopal Conference reiterated the appeal on Wednesday, in Luanda, on the need for retrieving moral and civic values, as a way of harmonising the society and Angolan families in particular.
According to the president of the conference, archbishop of Lubango, Dom Gabriel Mbilingui, speaking at the opening speech of the second annual assembly of the organisation, the reason why the topic "Families and matrimony" was chosen because it is the family nucleus that moral values begin to be implemented.
The Catholic priest stated that the loss of moral and ethical values is the basis for breakdown of the structures of many families and increase of domestic violence and criminality cases, highlighting as causes of unemployment, social execution, poverty and high cost of Angolan people's living.
